The brief

Nick had the idea for Nexus. What he didn't have was consistency. His first attempts at the brand looked different every time they showed up, and none of them felt as considered as the business he wanted to build.

In a relationship business, people buy into people first and foremost. But they also buy into the brand and what it stands for. Nexus needed to look as dependable as Nick is.

✕

Before

  • An idea, but no consistent look or voice
  • Early designs that didn't feel considered
  • Every new document started from scratch
  • A new business that looked new

✓

After

  • A BrandPack Lite that defines what Nexus stands for
  • A slick, coordinated identity everywhere it shows up
  • Assets anyone can use, whether we're involved or not
  • A brand that looks established and trustworthy

Step one: a BrandPack Lite

I convinced Nick that before anything else, he needed foundations. A BrandPack Lite was the starting point: what Nexus represents, how it looks and how it sounds, written down so it's portrayed consistently, whether he works with me or not.

That's exactly what we built. Here are a few snippets from the pack.

Then came a one-page A4 brochure, so Nexus had one clear, confident page to lead every conversation.

Step two: a website that does two jobs

Off the back of that, Nick asked us to build the website. It needed to work as a multi-function space:

01

For agencies

A showcase of the work delivered by the Nexus network, so clients can see the standard before they pick up the phone.

02

For workers

A simple way to apply and share their details for future work, building Nexus's network as it grows.

03

For everyone

Contact made as easy as possible, because in a relationship business every barrier costs a conversation.

As a fairly new business, trust is everything. So the site puts Nick's experience front and centre, and makes getting in touch almost effortless.

The feel: luxury resourcing, always there

The journey so far

  1. The idea

Nick's vision for a marine resourcing business.

  2. BrandPack Lite

Foundations: what Nexus stands for, defined and consistent.

  3. Brochure

One clear page to lead every conversation.

  4. Website

A showcase for agencies and a front door for workers.

  5. What's next

Working with Nick as an integrated agency.

The outcome

We're already seeing results, and the work is paying off. Nexus isn't 100% where Nick wants it to be yet, but the ship is pointing in the right direction. We're looking forward to working with Nick as an integrated agency as Nexus grows.

See it live: nexusrg.co.uk

I've known George for many years and he's obsessed with showing up for himself and others. When I needed him he was there. I wasn't a cog in a system, I felt like the only person he was dealing with, and in retrospect it was exactly what Nexus needed.
